Tzeli Hadjidimitriou was born in Mytilene, Lesvos in 1962. She holds a degree in Economics from the University of Thessaloniki (1980-1986) and pursued further studies in the field of Direction of Photography for the Cinema, in Rome (1986-1988). In 1985, on a scholarship from the Universita Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Milano, she attended a series of seminars by Michelangelo Antonioni on the art of cinematography. She also holds a superior diploma as an official translator of the Italian Language and a certificate in video-montage.
A professional photographer in Greece since 1988, she has worked in television for ten years and also in the cinema industry as stage photographer, collaborating with many film and photography directors.
Although mostly described as an “artistic landscape photographer”, her "lens" has also focused extensively on artworks, interiors and archaeological subjects and she collaborates with museums, galleries, architects and publishing houses. Her work is presented regularly in individual and group exhibitions in Greece and abroad.
She is a regular contributor of articles and photographs to several newspapers and magazines.

TZELI HADJIDIMITRIOU
Il y a dans la serie “Dancing Nudes” toutes les promesses d’un regard qui distille ses graces au bon moment; les images sont claires et sobres d’une beaute qui sait concilier la maitrise technique et une sensualite delectable. Ses images jouent avec la transparence et la lumiere des profondeurs aquatiques. Le regard de Tzeli Hadjidimitriou anime cet univers qui, mieux que d’autres, sait se refermer sur la realite tout en s’ouvrant sur l’imagination.
Ce travail est aussi et surtout l’accomplissement d’une photographe exigeante: son ?il capte, decompose, observe, retient et parvient anous offrir cette serie d’instantanes poetiques ou chaque sequence du mouvement, chaque nuance de couleur et chaque eclat de lumiere semblent traduire une relation al’art faite plus de curiosite et de fantaisie que de doctrine et de determination. Les photos de Tzeli Hadjidimitriou sont libres de tous schemas et techniques recurrentes; une liberte chere aussi a Michelangelo Antonioni, dont l’artiste a suivi les cours en 1985.
De ce grand maitre, auteur d’une mise en scene modern, complexe, lente et reflexive, Tzeli Hadjidimitriou a su retenir cette intransigeance franche d’auter “pur” sans compromis et cette habilitearendre l’intensitedu rapport entre les personnages et l’espace.
